ESPN's divisional boxing rankings highlight the best in the sport in every weight class. They will change often, based on recent results and performances. Rankings are based on what a fighter has accomplished in the weight division in which he is ranked. Fighters who have announced they are moving to a different weight class will be ranked in that new division, if warranted, only once they fight in that weight class. Fighters who currently own titles in two divisions can be ranked in both.

Fighters who haven't competed in the past 12 months -- and don't have a fight scheduled -- will be dropped from the rankings until they fight again. Any fighter who tests positive for a performance-enhancing substance will also be removed. That boxer will be eligible to re-enter the rankings after his next bout.

Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua demolished former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to score a second-round KO victory.

Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) is a former unified heavyweight champion and has won four consecutive fights since back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk. With the victory, he solidifies his No. 3 spot in the division, behind lineal champion Tyson Fury and Usyk, the unified champ. Fury and Usyk face each other May 18 for all major four titles, but this new version of Joshua under new trainer Ben Davison could certainly give the two a run for their money next year.

On the undercard, Joseph Parker continued his renaissance with an incredible majority decision victory over Zhilei Zhang to win the WBO interim heavyweight title.

Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) suffered knockdowns in the third and eighth rounds, but outside of that, he got Zhang in trouble most of the fight. Parker stays at No. 4 spot, while Zhang (26-2-1, 21 KOs), falls one spot to No. 6.

Expect a rematch between the two.

"This is a great win," said Parker after the fight, who entered the ring rated No. 4 by ESPN at heavyweight. "Zhang is a tough man, knocked me down twice. ... I'm very happy. .... We have a rematch [clause], so we're gonna do it again."

Also on the undercard, Israil Madrimov defeated Magomed Kurbanov in a one-sided fifth-round TKO win to earn the vacant WBA "super" junior middleweight title.

Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) was recovering from injury and hadn't fought in almost a year, but looked sharped against Kurbanov. He moves up five spots to No. 3 in the division. Kurbanov falls one spot to No. 8.

Rankings are determined by Mike Coppinger, Nick Parkinson, Damian Delgado Averhoff and Andres Ferrari. They are updated weekly on Tuesdays.
