The Winnipeg Jets activated forward Mark Scheifele from injured reserve prior to the club's 3-0 loss to the host Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
Scheifele had been sidelined six games due to a lower-body injury. The Jets placed forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby on waivers before the loss to free up the roster spot.
Scheifele, 30, has 14 goals and 41 points this season. Tuesday was his 42nd game, and Scheifele managed one shot on net in his 21 shifts. He covered 19:28 of ice time in the club's first game back from the All-Star break.
He has recorded 686 points (286 goals, 400 assists) in 764 games since being selected by the Jets with the seventh overall pick of the 2011 NHL Draft.
Jonsson-Fjallby, 25, had five points (two goals, three assists) in 26 games this season.
